The Code of TASTE!

This Lesson is out of the Gifted School's Forensic Prophecy Class

Scriptures Job 34:3, Job 6:30; 12:11

"Does not the ear test words and the mouth taste its food? Wisdom is with aged men, And with length of days, understanding"

A SEER has many senses as entryways into the spiritual realm...

TASTE is a powerful sense to practice and can become a two edged sword when empowered by the word. Notice in the scripture above it says that ears have taste! - Even as the tongue tastes food... in-fact eyes, ears, and the mouth can taste words... spiritually words are food.

HOW TO TASTE

The organ that tastes in the spiritual realm is like the tongue of the spirit - and is discernment.

DISCERNMENT

the ability to judge well.

(in Christian contexts) perception in the absence of judgment with a view to obtaining spiritual guidance and understanding.

Discernment is the ability to rightly weigh people, situations and circumstances. This is different than the gift of Discerning of Spirits (1 Cor. 12:10) That has more to do with seeing and perceiving the demonic and angelic realm.

So the Tasting Realm is about Judgement & Truth - its about giving proper balance and being able to be one with God's Heart of Judgment & Truth. Notice the bible says that God abhors unjust weights (Proverbs 11:1) it means that Gods discernment is holy and perfect and any sign of imbalance of truth, or pride - he resists. As a seer - you can feel this, you can see it, you can even taste it with your tongue - when you say the wrong thing, or with your ears when you hear the wrong thing. The taster is sensitive to these things. When you begin to pay attention to what you say, when you begin to mind your mouth, you become aware of what rivers are flowing from the stream of your lips (James 3:10). But, it is not just enough to be aware... but to be able to harness the tongue!

HARNESSING THE TONGUE

Harnessing the tongue is not easy - even as the scripture defines that the tongue is impossible to tame! (James 3:8) But what is impossible with man is possible with God - therefore the word of God is what is used to tame the tongue, hence forth taming it, training it and bringing it into the subjection of Christ! The bible even says that the word of God itself is able to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12) To begin to harness the tongue, one must first be able to humble their mouth before the lord - the spirit will catch your mouth and begin to teach what truth tastes like - where even at times God can actually take over your mouth - or teach you specifically what to say in fine detail. Praying in the spirit also trains this sensitivity. There is definitely more to this subject, but in the meantime lets practice the spiritual organ of taste.

This week, begin to become aware of tasting with your ears and with your tongue. To taste with your ears, at times through the week begin to set apart moments to soak in only the word and sound that the spirit has directed you to - immerse your ears to be trained to recognize what spirit and truth sound like. Likewise, begin to be aware of how you use words... when speaking - take note of whether or not what your saying is not only portraying the truth that you intend to give, but what God intends to give. Understand that Listening & Speaking are actually a spiritual Skill.
